Product Overview

The Cup Strip Brush is made by forming a metal channel strip brush into a circular cup-shaped structure, with the bristles extending vertically or at an angle from the metal backing. Unlike a flat ring brush, the raised bristle section creates a cylindrical brushing surface that can surround an opening, tool head or other circular component.

This construction is particularly useful where a brush needs to provide continuous contact around the perimeter of a round surface. Depending on the filament configuration, the cup brush can be used as a flexible seal, dust barrier, wiping brush or cleaning element. A typical example is a vacuum head attachment, where the circular bristle wall follows the edge of the suction opening while remaining flexible against the working surface.

BaJie Brush manufactures cup strip brushes with galvanized steel or stainless steel backing and a range of filament materials including nylon (PA), polypropylene (PP), horsehair, Tampico fiber and steel wire. Diameter, bristle height, filament density and bristle orientation can be customized according to the required sealing or cleaning function.

Product Features

  • Cup-Shaped Circular Construction – A metal channel strip brush is formed into a round cup configuration, creating a continuous bristle wall around the circumference.
  • Vertical or Angled Bristles – Filaments can be arranged vertically or at an angle to suit different sealing, wiping and surface-contact requirements.
  • Custom Cup Diameter – The circular diameter can be manufactured according to the required vacuum head, machine opening or installation dimensions.
  • Adjustable Bristle Height – Bristle height can be selected according to the required contact distance, surface profile and working conditions.
  • Wide Filament Selection – Nylon (PA), polypropylene (PP), horsehair, Tampico fiber and steel wire are available for applications ranging from soft sealing and dust collection to more aggressive cleaning.
  • Galvanized or Stainless Steel Backing – Different metal channel materials and sizes are available to match the installation environment and brush construction.

Materials

Cup strip brushes can be produced with different filament and metal backing materials according to the required surface contact, cleaning action and operating conditions. Because these brushes are often used around vacuum heads, machine guards and other working surfaces, filament flexibility and stiffness are important considerations when selecting the brush.

  • Horsehair – A soft and flexible natural filament suitable for vacuum attachments, light wiping and applications where gentle contact with the working surface is preferred.
  • Nylon (PA) – Combines flexibility with good wear resistance and is widely suitable for repeated sealing, wiping and general cleaning.
  • Polypropylene (PP) – An economical synthetic filament option for general-purpose applications.
  • Tampico Fiber – A natural fiber that provides a moderately firm yet flexible brushing surface for light cleaning and wiping applications.
  • Steel Wire – Provides significantly greater stiffness and mechanical brushing action for applications requiring more aggressive cleaning.

The metal channel backing is available in galvanized steel or stainless steel. Backing size can be selected together with the cup diameter and bristle height to suit the required brush construction.

Applications

Cup strip brushes are used where a flexible brush needs to follow a circular or rounded working area. Their cup-shaped construction allows the bristles to maintain contact around an opening or tool while still flexing against the working surface.

  • Vacuum Head Attachments – Installed around vacuum or suction heads to help contain dust and debris near the suction area while allowing the head to move across the working surface.
  • Drill and Router Head Guards – Used around rotating tool heads to help contain chips, dust and other particles generated during machining.
  • Specialty Cleaning Devices – The circular brush arrangement can provide continuous wiping or cleaning contact around round components and working areas.
  • Industrial Machinery Seals – Used around circular openings and machine components as a flexible barrier against dust, debris and other contaminants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a cup strip brush and an outside disk brush?

A cup strip brush forms a raised circular bristle wall, with the bristles typically arranged vertically or at an angle. An outside disk brush has bristles projecting radially outward from a circular metal backing. The two designs therefore create different contact directions and are used for different installation conditions.

What diameters can you manufacture?

We can manufacture custom cup strip brushes with diameters from 20 mm to 310 mm. Other dimensions such as bristle height, backing size and filament diameter can also be customized.

Can the bristles be made at an angle?

Yes. Cup strip brushes can be produced with vertical or angled bristles depending on the required contact surface and application.

What information is required for a custom cup strip brush?

Please provide the cup diameter, bristle height, filament material, bristle orientation and required quantity. A drawing, sample or photo of the application is also helpful for confirming the brush construction.
